Coating Technology

The same coating used by high-end cabinet manufacturers.

2K polyurethane is a two-component, catalyzed coating that chemically crosslinks as it cures — delivering the durability of a factory-finished cabinet.

The Basics

What "2K" actually means.

"1K" coatings (standard latex paint, alkyds, lacquers) cure by evaporation — the solvent leaves and the resin hardens. They stay re-soluble in their own solvents forever, which is why latex paint stays soft and gummy for months.

"2K" coatings cure by chemical reaction. A catalyst (the second component) crosslinks the resin into a permanent, irreversible network — the same way two-part epoxy hardens. The result is a coating that's chemically distinct from the parts that went in, and dramatically harder, tougher, and more resistant than anything that air-dries.

It's also why we spray exclusively in a dedicated booth with respirators and air filtration — the same equipment a factory uses. The coating is uncompromising, and the application has to match.

Performance

Six reasons it's the gold standard.

Scratch Resistance

Crosslinked finish stands up to keys, pots, and daily wear.

Moisture Resistance

Sealed against humidity, steam, and water splash.

Chemical Resistance

Survives household cleaners, oils, and disinfectants.

Long-Term Durability

Engineered to last 15–20+ years of daily use.

Factory Smoothness

Self-leveling formula dries glass-smooth.

Non-Yellowing

UV-stable resins stay true to colour over time.
